In addition to producing critically acclaimed and award-winning plays, the Barrow Street Theatre has a reputation for nurturing alternative theatre artists developing cutting-edge new work in comedy, performance and improvisation. Media Blitz has played a role in introducing to New York audiences some of these alternative productions, including “Two Men Talking,” shadow puppet spectacle “Swamp Juice,” and the Chicago-based long-form improvisers TJ & Dave.
Since they began appearing regularly at The Barrow Street Theatre in 2005, TJ & Dave have nurtured a passionately loyal downtown audience comprised in equal parts of theatre fans and fans and practitioners of improvisation. The NY Times has dubbed them “the premier improv duo working today,” and Time Out NY has called them as “the Mt. Everest of improv.”
